Mr. Barker understands business-both as a business owner with a strong corporate background as well as a broad-spectrum business consultant. He has run a successful consulting firm and marketing company with a focus on business growth and expansion for companies in the US and internationally. He has been able to observe and evaluate the internal operations, strategies, and financial conditions of many businesses. Consequently, Dwight has a unique perspective as to why some businesses achieve resounding success and has assisted with improved quality, performance and increased market share.

Dwight has worked with companies in many different industries such as Food Service, Healthcare, Logistics, Property Development and Acquisitions, finance, manufacturing, product and brand development, and many more.

Prior to his career as a business and marketing consultant, Dwight spent over 15 years in the food service industry. He worked in operations with corporate chains such as Brinker International, Darden Restaurants, and Checkers-Drive In. As VP of operations with Checkers, Dwight oversaw company operations for all company owned locations across the US. His responsibilities included overseeing all aspects of operations, marketing, site selection and development, and improving segment market share and profitability. Dwight was also COO for a Checkers franchisee in the Memphis area and helped to develop and grow the market exponentially. Dwight has also owned and partnered in other ventures such as a regional BBQ concept as well as a bar and grill concept. Dwight received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is very active in the community and is a member of the Southaven Leadership Foundation. Dwight is also a member of the Planning Commission and the Chairman of the Industrial Development Board in his home of Arlington, Tennessee.
