Tim Michael Ferguson II, known as Mike Ferguson, is a Democratic candidate for the Robeson County Board of Commissioners, District 8, in the 2026 election. District 8 covers the northern portion of Robeson County, including the communities of St. Pauls, Parkton, and Lumber Bridge. Ferguson won the District 8 Democratic primary on March 3, 2026, with 66.55 percent of the vote and will face Republican Lance Herndon in the November general election.
Ferguson has focused his campaign on economic development and public education. He advocates creating more opportunities for youth to work and spend time in downtown areas. He has expressed concern that while regional higher education institutions are growing, public school performance in the county has continued to decline.
Family
Ferguson is married. He and his wife have discussed plans to remain in Robeson County as their parents age.
