Alysa Kassay (Democrat) ran for NC's 6th Congressional District in the 2026 Democratic primary, her first bid for elected office.

Background and education
Kassay earned an associate degree from Randolph Community College (2002) and a bachelor's degree from UNC-Greensboro, completing both degrees while working full-time and raising her family.
Career
Kassay began her career at the Internal Revenue Service at age 19 as a clerk and worked her way up over 30 years to become a supervisory federal civilian, leading a team of revenue agents who assisted taxpayers facing bankruptcy and financial hardship.
Family
Has been with her husband for 25 years and raised her adult children in the Piedmont Triad of NC.
