Jeffrey Scott Huffman

Scott Huffman is the Democratic candidate for the North Carolina House of Representatives, District 76, in the November 3, 2026 general election. Members of the North Carolina House serve two‑year terms and must be at least 21 years old and residents of the district they seek to represent【9】. Huffman advanced to the general ballot after the Democratic primary was canceled【3】.

Born in Salisbury, North Carolina, Huffman graduated from North Rowan High School in 1980【3】. He served more than seven years in the U.S. Navy (1981‑1988), attaining the rank of Petty Officer Second Class and earning the Navy Achievement Award, Navy Expeditionary Award, Good Conduct Medal, and three Sea Service Deployment Ribbons【3】【12】. After military service he built a career in information technology and cybersecurity, founding Charlotte Internet LLC in 1995 and joining the Federation of Internet Solution Providers of the Americas in 1999【12】.

Huffman has been active in community and party organizations. He served on the board of directors for the Elizabeth Hanford Dole Chapter of the American Red Cross (2003‑2005) and founded the local Indivisible Charlotte chapter. He is a member of the Mecklenburg County Democratic Board of Directors【3】【12】.

Politically, Huffman has run for federal office three times. He was the Democratic nominee for U.S. House District 8 in 2018, again in 2022 (losing to incumbent Rep.
