Amanda Anderson Carroll is the Clerk of Superior Court for Cherokee County, North Carolina. She was appointed to the position on February 6, 2025, by Superior Court Judge Tessa Sellers following the retirement of Roger Gibson, the longtime previous clerk. She is serving out the remainder of Gibson's term.

Background and education

Carroll is a lifelong Cherokee County resident. She graduated from Hiwassee Dam High School. She is a member of Grape Creek Baptist Church in Murphy.

Career

Before joining the Cherokee County Clerk's Office, Carroll worked as a certified paralegal and legal assistant for more than 20 years, handling document preparation, foreclosure packages, trust account management, and bank coordination. She joined the Cherokee County Clerk's Office in 2015 and served in multiple roles including assistant civil clerk, criminal clerk, bookkeeper, and cashier. At the time of her appointment as Clerk of Superior Court she had nearly a decade of service in that office and more than 20 years in the legal field overall.

Carroll is an active member of Grape Creek Baptist Church.

Family

Carroll is married to Jason Carroll, who owns Carroll's Body Shop in Murphy. They have a son, Ethan. Her parents are Tom and Ava Anderson.
