William Harold "Bill" Morris is a Republican candidate for NC State House District 6, which covers central and western Harnett County. He currently serves as vice chair of the Harnett County Board of Commissioners.

Background and education

Morris graduated from Lee County High School in 1984 and completed the Basic Law Enforcement Training program at Central Carolina Community College in 1987.

Career

Morris enlisted in the US Army in 1984 and served in the Military Police Corps through 1987. He then built a 34-year law enforcement career, including 20 years with the Harnett County Sheriff's Office (13 years in narcotics enforcement) and 10 years with the Town of Erwin. He is a disabled veteran and serves as a VA-certified inspector for adaptive housing. He has previously chaired both the Harnett County Schools Board of Education and the Harnett County Board of Commissioners. He operates Black River Automotive in Erwin and farms locally.

Morris is a Mason, Shriner, and member of Antioch PFW Church in Dunn, NC.

Family

Morris and his wife, Genia, have been married for 34 years. They have two adult children and one grandchild.
