Lisa Marie Meier is a Democratic candidate for the Iredell County Board of Commissioners in North Carolina.

Meier has emphasized fiscal transparency, full funding for public schools, and managing Iredell County's growth through careful spending analysis and benchmarking of county services.

Background and education

Meier grew up in rural Indiana in a family of small business owners. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Ball State University, a Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University, an Artificial Intelligence Certification from MIT, a Mergers and Acquisitions Certification from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and completed an Executive Leadership Program at Yale University.

Career

Meier led large international businesses in both publicly traded and privately held organizations, including Thomson Multimedia, Binatone Electronics, and Underwriters Laboratories, managing international teams and complex multi-million-dollar budgets. She was also a State Policy Fellow at the Hunt Institute in North Carolina.

Meier has served on the Iredell County Planning Board, the Board of Directors for United Way of Iredell County, as co-president of the Greater Statesville Chamber of Commerce, and on the Advisory Board for GreenLifeTech.

Family

Meier is married and has two children. Her daughter is a graduate of UNC Charlotte and her son currently attends school. The family has lived in the Iredell-Statesville community for approximately nine years.
