David Allen Norris is a Democratic candidate for the Moore County Schools Board of Education at-large seat in North Carolina, running in 2026 on a platform of "Parents first, transparency always."
Norris believes school boards should focus on education fundamentals — reading, math, workforce readiness, and student safety — while treating parents as partners and ensuring transparent governance and fiscal responsibility.
Norris serves as Chairman of the Carthage Planning Board, where he works with town leadership and residents on growth and development decisions. He dropped a prior lawsuit against the Moore County Board of Education — in which he contended the board violated the state's open meetings law — before filing for the at-large seat.
Norris has been active in the Carthage Rotary Club, serving as Club President, organizing the Carthage 4th of July Parade for three consecutive years, and supporting graduating Moore County seniors through Rotary scholarship programs.
