Current office and 2026 campaign

Jawrell Cook is a Republican candidate for Anderson County Commission District 8, on the ballot in Anderson County's Republican primary and the August 6, 2026 county general election 12. Announcing his candidacy, Cook said "District Eight deserves experienced, principled leadership that will put Oak Ridge taxpayers first and ensure our county government operates efficiently and transparently" 1.

Background and education

Cook is a graduate of Oak Ridge High School and earned a Business Administration degree from the University of Tennessee 1.

Career

He served more than 20 years in the United States Army and Army Reserves before founding Cook's Comfort Systems, Inc., a regional heating-and-cooling business that has operated for more than three decades. He has served on the Boys & Girls Club of Oak Ridge board of directors, volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), served on Oak Ridge's Trade and Licensing Board and the Oak Ridge Memorial Park board, and coached youth sports for 15 years 1.
