He is a 1990 graduate of Greeneville High School and attended Tusculum College for two years before working at Greene Valley Developmental Center [1].\n\n## Career\nBeverly began his career with the Greene County Sheriff's Office in 1997 as a corrections officer, moved to a dispatcher position in 1999, and later became a commissioned patrol officer. He tried out for the department's Special Operations (S.W.A.T.) team in 2004, serving as an operator until 2012, when he was promoted to Assistant Commander. He has held the command positions of Patrol Sergeant and Patrol Lieutenant, and was appointed Chief Deputy in 2018 when Wesley Holt was elected sheriff, a post in which he has overseen the department's Patrol, Corrections, School Resource, Court Security, Civil Process, Records and Criminal Investigations divisions, among others.
