He simultaneously ran unopposed as the Republican incumbent for Bledsoe County Commission District 2, Part B.\n\n## Background and education\nSwafford was born and raised in Bledsoe County, growing up on his family's farm in the Cold Springs community. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Plant Sciences with a concentration in Genetics and Biotechnology and a minor in Entrepreneurship from the University of Tennessee.\n\n## Career\nSwafford manages a major agricultural operation for Aviagen North America, overseeing the movement of more than three million eggs monthly across North America. He also co-owns and operates a farm and small business with his brother.
