Robert McKamey is the incumbent Anderson County Commissioner for District 5, seeking re-election as a Republican in the August 6, 2026 county general election. District 5 has three qualified candidates for two seats: McKamey, fellow Republican Jeff Pack, and Democrat Martin "Marty" May; fellow incumbent Jerry White is not seeking re-election, leaving one District 5 seat open 14.

Career

McKamey was director of Anderson County Emergency Services from 1974 until 1994, and is retired from Comcast Cable Communications in Knoxville, where he worked as facilities and fleet coordinator 2.

Office history

McKamey served as county commissioner in the old Third District from 1982 until 1994, and has represented the Fifth District since 2006; he sought re-election in 2014 2. He serves on the commission’s Operations, Legislative, Nomination, Highway, and Human Resource committees, and on the Veterans Advisory Committee 3.
