Fred A. Atchley is a Republican member of the Tennessee House of Representatives representing District 12, a seat he has held since his election on November 5, 2024 12. District 12 is located entirely within Sevier County and includes Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Pittman Center, Seymour, Wears Valley, and part of Sevierville 12. Atchley is seeking re-election in the Republican primary scheduled for August 6, 2026 1. His stated legislative priorities include upgrading local infrastructure, enhancing public schools, strengthening public safety, and preserving conservative values 23.

Career

Atchley's career in public service spanned several decades before his election to the state legislature. He began at the Sevier County Sheriff's Office and later joined the City of Sevierville Fire Department, where he rose to the rank of Battalion Chief before retiring in 2019 23. Concurrently, he served for more than 25 years as a County Commissioner representing Sevier County's fifth district, during which time he chaired the Budget Committee and served as Vice-Chair of the E911 Board 23. He was elected to the Tennessee General Assembly in November 2024 14.

Family

Atchley is married to Angela. They have four children and two grandchildren 2.
