Chris Ahler is not currently a Roane County Commissioner; he is Treasurer for the City of Harriman 1. He won a seat in the May 5, 2026 Republican primary for County Commission District 2 (a three-seat district) with 913 votes, finishing first among three Republican candidates 2. He advances to a contested August 6, 2026 general election against sitting District 2 commissioners Brad Goss (independent), Greg Ferguson (independent), and Junior Hendrickson (Republican), plus fellow GOP primary winner Mike Kittrell, for the district's three seats 23.
