Office history

Current office and 2026 campaign

Greg Ferguson is the sitting Roane County Commissioner for District 2, a three-seat district, running for re-election as an independent; he filed his petition on January 9, 2026 12. As an independent he did not run in the May 5 party primary; he faces a contested August 6, 2026 general election against fellow independent incumbent Brad Goss, GOP primary winner and incumbent Junior Hendrickson, and non-incumbent Republican primary winners Chris Ahler and Mike Kittrell for the district's three seats 23. His campaign describes him as a "5th generation Roane County resident and long-time business owner" and positions him as "the voice of the people on County Commission" 4.

Office history

County records place Ferguson on the District 2 commission seat as far back as 2014-2018 and again for the current term running September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2026 15. He serves on several commission committees, including the Beer Board, Committee on Committees, County Owned Back Tax Property, Finance, Legislative, Non-Profit, Property, Solid Waste, Sports Recreation, and Asian Carp committees 6.
