David Copeland currently represents District 9 on the Tipton County Commission1 and is a candidate for that seat as a Republican in the August 6, 2026 Tipton County general election.
Career
Copeland has worked with public entities on payroll issues and on employee attraction, retention and engagement2.
After first winning his commission seat in 2018, Copeland said he canvassed roughly 1,000 doors in his district and, hearing from many constituents that they did not know who their county commissioner was, made expanding outreach and communication with residents a focus of his time in office2.
