Terri Christie (listed on filings as Terri S. Christie) is an independent candidate for Hickman County Mayor in the August 6, 2026 county general election 1. She is one of four mayoral candidates on the ballot 1.
Legislative record and accomplishments
In July 2026, Christie became a prominent voice opposing a City of Fairview police firing range and training facility being built in Hickman County. She said she learned of the project through WSMV4 news coverage and prepared an open letter and formal complaint requesting "preservation of relevant records, independent review and investigation, and appropriate administrative action" 2. She stated: "I do not support an outside city exporting a controversial outdoor firing range project to Hickman County," and that "Serious questions remain about the permitting process, public notice, county oversight, and how this project was allowed to advance without meaningful notice or input from the Hickman County residents who may bear its greatest impacts" 2. She organized a July 19, 2026 community meeting at the East Hickman Community Center, which she said was intended "to be a serious citizen information meeting, not a campaign rally" 2.
