RANDY SPENCER

RANDY SPENCER

Office history

Current office and 2026 campaign

Randy Spencer is the Democratic nominee for Overton County Commissioner, District 3, on the August 6, 2026 county general ballot, where District 3 elects three commissioners 12. Motivated by concerns over tax-rate increases and residents "feeling unheard," he pledges to hold town-hall meetings, "answer all phone calls and messages," and donate his commissioner pay to "our district's needs, such as charities, food banks, schools, and such," and says he would limit himself to two terms, reasoning "if 2 terms is good enough for the POTUS position then that is all that I would seek for a Commission seat" 1.

Background and career

Spencer has lived in Overton County for 28 years and, though not born in Tennessee, says he has "no intention of living anywhere else" 1. He spent 26 years "working away from home" before retiring two years ago and states he has "no further political motives other than giving the residents a voice" 1.
