Current office and 2026 campaign

Jeff Crum is the Democratic candidate for Rutherford County Commission District 5 in the August 6, 2026 general election, opposing incumbent Laura Davidson 2. A lifelong Democrat, Crum has said, "There's a lack of representation for the individuals within the community," and has emphasized increasing educational opportunities for students 1.

Background and education

Crum, of La Vergne, was 62 during his run for the newly created Tennessee House District 13 1. He graduated from Peabody High School in Trenton, Tennessee, earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Tennessee at Martin, and completed 41 hours of graduate coursework in industrial-organizational psychology at Middle Tennessee State University 1.

Career

Crum has about 20 years of management experience and works as a business associate with CarMax in Nashville; he previously spent roughly 20 years in private investigation and insurance claims work 1. He has coached youth baseball and soccer in the La Vergne and Smyrna areas 1.

Office history

Crum previously ran unsuccessfully for Davidson County Juvenile Court Clerk, and was the Democratic nominee for the newly created Tennessee House District 13, losing to Republican Robert Stevens, who took about 62% of the vote 13.

Family

Crum is single and has two children, Taylor Grace Crum and Dalton Crum 1.
