Tom Bailey is the incumbent member of the Collierville Schools Board of Education, Position 4, and is seeking re-election on the August 6, 2026 ballot as a Republican 123. He is currently the only candidate filed for this seat. He and another candidate named Gibbs both won open Collierville School Board seats in the election that brought him to the board 4.
Background and education
Bailey moved to Collierville in 1997. He attended Collierville Middle School and graduated from Collierville High School in 2003 3. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2007 3. He and his wife, also a CHS class of 2003 graduate and longtime Collierville resident, have children currently enrolled in Collierville Schools 13.
Bailey was born with Becker Muscular Dystrophy, a progressive form of muscular dystrophy, and uses a wheelchair 3.
Career
Bailey is Manager of Road Operations at Canadian National Railroad, where he oversees intermodal trucking operations for the company's US-based division 3. He has worked at Canadian National for seventeen years 3. Earlier in his career he served as Supply Chain Administrator at Pinnacle Airlines 3.
Community involvement
Bailey is active in local youth sports and Girl Scouts, and is a member of Living Hope Church 3. He has described his board service as a way "to give back to the town that has given him so much" 3.
