Johnny "Coach" Bruce is the Independent incumbent for Campbell County Commission District 4, seeking reelection in the August 6, 2026 county general election 1. He is the only one of District 4's three sitting commissioners on the 2026 ballot — fellow incumbents Erica Simpson and Charles "Goat" Baird picked up petitions but did not file — leaving Bruce to face five challengers: Independents Marlana Lester and Devin Oakes, and Republicans Ray Perry, Chris Stanley, and Nathan Treadway, for the district's three seats 12.

Bruce currently serves as chairman of the Campbell County Commission 34.
