Carol Berry is the incumbent Democratic representative for District 1 on the Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board and is running for re-election in the Aug. 6, 2026 election, facing Republican Kailee Cordell 12. She has been endorsed by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Association 1.
Background and education
Berry was born and raised in Lafayette, Alabama, and graduated with honors from Lafayette High School 1. She earned a Bachelor of Science in elementary education with a minor in English/language arts from Texas College and a Master of Education from Drury University 1.
Career
A lifelong educator, Berry taught in Missouri, Texas, Department of Defense schools in Germany, and CMCSS, retiring from CMCSS in May 2015 1. She served as president of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Association from 2010 to 2012 and has earned the Tennessee School Boards Association Level IV Boardmanship Award 1.
