Career
Capshaw works as a Certified Pharmacy Technician and previously worked as a quality auditor at the CVS Health Knoxville Distribution Center 34. She is active with Altrusa International of Oak Ridge, the Roane State Community College Pharmacy Technician Program Advisory Board, and the Knoxville Area Urban League, and serves the Tennessee State Conference NAACP as an Executive Committee Member-At-Large; she was selected for the NAACP's inaugural Next Generation leadership class in 2018 3.

Capshaw ran for Anderson County Trustee as the Democratic nominee in 2018, losing the August 2 general election to Republican Regina Copeland, 8,981 votes to 3,987 (69.7% to 30.3%) 4. She was subsequently elected Anderson County Commissioner for District 6, the seat she now holds 15.
