2026
R primary

Cindy Fain is a Republican candidate running for election to the Hamilton County Board of Education to represent District 6 in Tennessee [1]. She appears on the ballot for the Republican primary scheduled for May 5, 2026 [1]. The general election for this seat is set for August 6, 2026 [1]. Fain resides in Chattanooga and maintains a business in downtown Chattanooga [11]. She is married to Lemon Williams and has two daughters who attend public schools [11], [12].

Fain previously ran for the same District 6 seat in the 2022 Republican primary. In that election, she finished second with 1,094 votes (37.9%), behind winner Jon Baker, who received 1,142 votes (39.6%) [1], [3]. Third-place finisher Delores Gross Vinson received 649 votes [1]. Following the loss, Fain filed an election challenge with the Tennessee Republican Party Primary Board, alleging that "illegal Democratic crossover voters" swayed the outcome [9], [11]. She cited concerns regarding Critical Race Theory and gender identity in schools as motivations for her political engagement [11].

In addition to her school board campaigns, Fain has been active in local advocacy groups. In 2023, she was elected treasurer of the Hamilton County chapter of Moms for Liberty, a role she continued from her initial membership in 2022 [12]. She describes herself as a small business owner and emphasizes parental rights in education [12]. Her campaign website lists the neighborhoods of District 6 as Red Bank, North Chattanooga, Lupton City, Stuart Heights, Riverview, and Hill City [8].
