Jody Garrison is the Republican Party nominee for Sumner County Commission District 1 (the Westmoreland area and northeastern Sumner County), facing Democrat Shiloh A. Dillard on the August 6, 2026 ballot 1. He won the May 5, 2026 Republican primary with 444 votes, defeating Terry L. Moss 2. Garrison says the county "can't stop growth but can do it responsibly" and should grow "at its own pace," and he has identified water access as "a huge issue in Westmoreland as it grows"; he has proposed a forum or social-media page before each commission meeting where residents can post concerns 3.
