Travis Layne is the Republican candidate for Marion County Mayor on the August 6, 2026 county general ballot 12. He won the May 5, 2026 Republican mayoral primary in a three-way race against Tom D. Hudson and Larry N. Montague 3. In a campaign statement, Layne said he is running because he believes the county deserves better leadership, and pledged that if elected he would keep residents informed through weekly updates from the mayor's office and monthly town-hall meetings 4. He faces Democrat David Jackson and independents Tim Brooks, Daniel Carter, Patrick Childs and Benjamin Shankles 1.
