Nick McBride is a Republican politician in Knox County, Tennessee, currently serving as the Knox County Register of Deeds [12]. A native of Knoxville, he attended Cedar Bluff and Farragut schools before pursuing higher education at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), Roane State Community College, and Tusculum University [2]. He earned two Associate of Applied Science degrees from Roane State Magna Cum Laude and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Business Administration from Tusculum [3]. McBride has over 35 years of service in the Register's office and is recognized as an authority on land document recording in Knox County [2].

McBride was first elected as Register of Deeds in August 2018 [2]. During his tenure, he implemented electronic recording systems for the county and directed software upgrades that enabled remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic [2]. He serves as President of the East Tennessee Register’s Association and Parliamentarian of the Tennessee Register’s Association [3]. Additionally, he holds certifications as a Certified Public Manager, Certified Public Administrator, and Certified County Finance Officer [3]. McBride is also involved with the Knox County Republican Party, serving as Chairman of the Knox County Employees Insurance Committee and Vice-Chair of the Knox County Retirement Board [8]. He is President of the Epilepsy Foundation of East Tennessee and Treasurer of the Knoxville Elks Lodge [8].

In 2026, McBride announced his candidacy for Knox County Trustee in the Republican primary, challenging incumbent Justin Biggs [12]. The trustee office acts as the county's banker, collecting property taxes and disbursing funds [12]. Biggs is facing a state investigation into questionable spending regarding vehicle leases and travel expenses [12]. McBride submitted paperwork naming K. Ray Pinkstaff as campaign treasurer for his "Committee to Elect Nick McBride" in April 2026 [12]. He stated that citizens face a crisis of confidence in the trustee's office and promised to bring transparency and accountability to the role [12]. The primary election is scheduled for May 5, 2026 [12].

Note: There is another individual named Nick McBride who served as an Independent member of the South Australian House of Assembly for MacKillop from 2018 until 2026. That individual was formerly a Liberal Party member and faced assault charges in Australia [1]. This biography focuses on the Tennessee candidate based on the race context.
