She is a proud graduate of Melrose High and the University of Memphis, with a background in the medical field. Joyce has been actively involved in education as the chairperson for the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at various schools. She has also fought to keep Dunbar Elementary, her neighborhood's school, from closing. Joyce is currently serving as a County School Board member for Division 9, with her term starting in 2022 and ending in 2026.
