About this office

The Fayette County Clerk's office handles motor-vehicle registrations and license plates, issues marriage licenses, and processes business-tax registrations. In a smaller county the Clerk's office also handles duties that in larger counties may be split among specialized offices. Separate elected office from the Register of Deeds.
